Official NDP policy is pro-abortion. In addition, the NDP constitution officially recognizes, embraces and establishes a special "committee" devoted to LGBTQ ideology.

In a betrayal of our constitutional right to free speech, freedom of assembly, and the right to protest, Thompson voted in favour a draconian Liberal bill to establish "No Free Speech Zones" around all Ontario abortion facilities.

The unconstitutional Bill 163, which became law, bans pro-life witness and free speech on taxpayer-owned, public sidewalks within a radius of up to 150 metres of every abortuary in Ontario. It will put peaceful, pro-life sidewalk counsellors and demonstrators in jail for 6 months, along with the possibility of a $5000 fine for the first "offense". This law will directly result in the deaths of many more preborn children who could have been saved by pro-life sidewalk counsellors, as so many thousands have been over the years.

In 2013, Wingham taxpayers organized a defund abortion rally outside MPP Thompson's constituency office. She was not available to meet the concerned taxpayers at the rally, but they did make an appointment at a later time to share their concerns with her. It is our understanding that during that appointment, MPP Thompson listend to the concerns but did not divulge whether she would support or oppose efforts to defund medically unnecessary abortions which are committed for reasons of convenience, as a back-up birth control method.
