In 2018, Michael was a candidate for Mayor of Ottawa, as which time he gave perfect pro-life answers to CLC's election survey. However, during the 2022 Ontario Provincial election campaign, as a New Blue Party of Ontario candidate, Michael told a constituent that he believes the form of medical homicide known as euthanasia "should be a matter of personal choice".
